There is no better time than now to experiment with colour as bold and bright hues trend for the season. No matter the hue, matte is the way to go! It's easy to rock, flattering on most complexions and there's a good chance it won't budge throughout the day. These are the three I believe every bold lip lover should own...

MAC Heroine {Matte Finish} - R220
Heroine was once a limited edition lipstick offered by MAC. Due to such high demand, they decided to make it permanent and its pretty obvious why. MAC describes it as a bright purple matte lipstick. I would also say that when applied its super creamy as opposed to the much reviewed but still favourite MAC Ruby Woo. Use a lip liner with this one for a perfect application and also dot with a paper towel if the slightest of shine puts you off.

MAC All Fired Up {Retro Matte} R220
This one I loooove! A bright fuchsia matte, this lipstick is perfect if traditional pinks aren't your thing. It has a neon-like twist to it which I just don't think you will get anywhere else. Also its dubbed a retro matte finish because some of MAC's traditional matte lippies aren't too forgiving when it comes to cracking and bleeding so moisturising with a lip balm wouldn't be totally necessary. You should also check out the other retro matte lipsticks - they are to die for!

MAC So Chaud {Matte Finish} - R220
Orange lips trended for the better part of 2014. But, if you're not in a classic mood and want to deviate for cult red lips, opting for orange is the way to go. So Chaud is an matte intense reddish-orange. Once again, your lips won't bleed or crack because its texture is quite creamy. I love this lip paired with a gold glittery eye and spidery lashes.
