I'm an eyeshadow fiend! While I have my go-to palettes, I have never quite deviated from my signature dusky roses and brick reds. Needless to say I was beyond excited when these pans of Pure Colour Envy Defining Eyeshadows arrived at my home.

The Estèe Lauder South Africa team was kind enough to send a great selection of makeup for me to review (keep your eyes pealed for more in-depth reviews of their latest launches) and it was this duo I was the most eager to try - Vain Violet and Hyper Teal.


Intrigued by its promise, Estèe Lauder Pure Colour Envy Defining Eyeshadows are a one-of-a-kind cream powder and gel creation all in one. Think silky, blendable and weightless. Their hybrid nature means that you can use these pans wet or dry. When wet, these are perfection for precision lining or to simply intensify the colour on your lids. When dry, the eyeshadows glide on softly creating a more translucent finish.


With Valentine's Day looming ever so near, these would make for great Date Night additions - to your makeup look of course. Because powerful high-definition colour are what these shadows are all about, you can go for a subtle lip and lightly rose coloured cheeks. And if you're having a Galentine's Day with your possy of 'Woo-hoo!" girls, intensify your smokey eye by liberally applying these hues all over the lid and darkening everything up with a black kohl liner.
