I don't think this is anything new to my readers but I am a highlighter fiend. Certified! I have a dozen illuminators and other glow-inducing make-up products to help provide me with the ultimate strobing effect. However, very recently I stumbled upon the Illuminator Rehausseur D'Éclat by NYX, and by stumble upon I mean NYX South Africa was kind enough to send it to me to try. So without further adieu meet my latest obsession!
Traditional illuminators come in the form of powdery shimmery golden and bronze hues - think MAC Mineralize Skin Finish Powder like Gold Deposit - or in the form of rose gold or golden liquids like the NARS Orgasm Illuminator. A few, however, come in the form of stark white powders but once transferred onto the skin, the result is a golden, iridescent glow.

The NYX Illuminator Rehausseur D'Éclat is one such product, doing a remarkable job at illuminating areas of the skin you wish to add a subtle yet effective highlight to. If you have been, like me, meaning to get your hands on the NARS Albatross Highlighter but have found it difficult to get it into the country, this might be your dupe. Where the fragments of the pigment from traditional highlighters carry onto your skin, illuminators such as the NYX Illuminator Rehausseur D'Éclat don't. This is a super favourable to have in a highlighter especially if you have daytime events planned but you don't wish to overdo your artificial glow.

You know the drill when it comes to applying highlighter - apply it to the high points of your face i.e. cheek bones, bridge and tip of your nose, brow bone, cupids bow and just above your brows. You can of course take it a step further and add a bit of shimmer to your collar bone and shoulders.
