#BeginnersSeries: Let's Talk Concealers!

Concealers! My obsession with them is right up there with foundation. Made to cover up pesky blemishes, dark circles, pigmentation marks or to simply highlight, I share a few of my favourites in a very recent YouTube video. My #BeginnersSeries will soon be coming to an end so soak up the knowledge! Here's a quick breakdown of the products mentioned...

MAC Cosmetics Studio Finish SPF35 Concealer
These concealers are the best for high coverage. From concealing tattoos, redness from acne or dark circles, MAC Studio Fix is perfection. As explained in the video, I have a few for which I use for various reasons as indicated below. They are thick and creamy in consistency, however, the only con is that they crease so I always suggest prepping your under eye with an eye cream and setting the concealer with a translucent powder. These currently retail for R275 and the darkest shade is NW50.

L.A. Girl PRO Conceal {HD Concealer}
In the video I said I swapped out my MAC Pro Longwear Concealer (R295) for this one. While the latter is a liquid/creamy texture, the L.A. Girl PRO Conceal is water-based. It is high coverage but definitely less cakey than MAC Studio Finish. My most favourite shade is Fawn. I am yet to come across a brand that has this exact colour. It has a yellow undertone which beautifully brightens and highlights the under eye area. Use a BeautyBlender to blend this one out, the result will be flawless! It retails for about R60 at Dis-Chem.

Estée Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Flawless Concealer
Already a mega-fan of the foundation I thought I'd give the concealer a try. Although I did pick up the wrong shade, this concealer still blended beautifully into my skin and because it is a shade lighter, it brightens the under eye area phenomenally too. I will purchase the correct shade and update this post accordingly!

Cipria Milano Contouring Kits
An unexpected surprise! I truly love these contouring kits sent to me by the Cipria Milano team. Such a treat to use and of course convenient, these concealer quads are creamy yet lightweight. If MAC's Studio Finisg is too much on the heavy side for your taste, definitely give these a go. They retail for R299 and four shades are included in a set. Definitely more bang for your buck and are of superb quality too.
